U-16’s advance to USSDA National Championship
D.C. United’s U-16 team advanced to the 2012 USSDA National Championship after finishing their playoff run undefeated. The USSDA National Championship will take place at Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium, beginning on July 16.
United’s U-16’s earned a spot in the National Championship by finishing in first place on Group 6, with victories against Concorde Fire and Colorado Rush, and a draw with the LA Galaxy.

D.C. United’s U-16 and U-18 teams wrapped up USSDA regular season play this past weekend, with the U-16’s winning the Eastern Conference Mid-Atlantic Division title and securing a spot in the playoffs, while the U-18’s finished their season in fourth place.

D.C. United’s U-18 and U-16 Academy teams traveled to Pennsylvania this past weekend to take on FC Delco and PA Classics, respectively. Both teams will compete in final Development Academy regular season matches this weekend, with hopes of making the playoffs.

D.C. United announced today plans for the club’s Academy tryouts. Players in the U-17/18 and U-15/16 age groups can sign up online and receive e-mail notifications with further instructions on registration, as well as dates and times for the upcoming tryouts. D.C. United’s U-18 and U-16 Academy teams registered a combined record of 3-0-1 during the weekend, facing USSDA Mid-Atlantic Division rivals Match Fit Chelsea and NJSA 04.

D.C. United’s Academy Teams earned a combined record of 1-1-2 over the weekend, as the U-18 and U-16 sides faced FC Delco and PA Classics in USSDA matches.
United’s U-18’s showed their character on Saturday, May 12 to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against FC Delco. After conceding two goals in the opening five minutes, United responded immediately with a long-distance goal from Patrick Foss (South Riding, Va.). Twenty minutes later, Brad Vorv (Bethesda, Md./Olney Rangers) scored the tying goal with a powerful header, sealing the final result to 2-2.

Coming off a one-week layoff, D.C. United’s Youth Academy teams resumed their 2012 USSDA run this past weekend, with the U-16’s and U-18’s facing Mid-Atlantic Division rivals Potomac and Baltimore Bays Chelsea.
United’s U-18 squad kicked off the weekend with a resounding 4-0 victory over Potomac on Saturday, May 5. A brace by Marcus Salandy-Defour, a tally from Suliman Dainkeh and a penalty kick-goal from Collin Martin led the Black-and-Red to victory. Goalkeeper Allan Flott was also influential by providing security from the back as he recorded the shutout in goal.
Moreno's striker camps highlight busy summer slate
With the school year racing to its close,
mailboxes across the Washington area are filling up with summer camp
brochures. Few programs offer the
chance to learn from professional athletes themselves, and fewer still provide
the opportunity to pick up tips from a legend in their respective sport.
Come early July, the Jaime Moreno Striker Camp
will do both.
U-14 & U-15 Academy tryout dates
D.C. United’s Academy has announced the U-14 and U-15 tryout dates for the 2012/2013 season. All tryouts will be held at the RFK Auxiliary Field and the full schedule is below. The D.C. United Academy is one of the leading youth development programs in the United States. Over the prior year, the club's Academy has garnered nine National Team call-ups, twelve MLS Reserve League call-ups, and secured 22 separate collegiate placements for its players.
