D.C. United’s Academy U-18s and U-16s concluded the teams’ U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) seasons with the League playoffs held in Frisco, TX against other top USSDA sides from around the country from June 24-27 and June 25-28, respectively. Also, United’s U-23s topped Chesterfield United FC 5-1 on Saturday in their latest National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) match.
After being signed in August 2010, Shanosky had been on loan with Harrisburg City, Fort Lauderdale and Richmond. Thirty-five appearances in total for the Sterling, Va. native who plays holding midfield and center back before his first MLS start.
D.C. United’s U-18 and U-16 Academy teams ended their respective 2012-13 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) seasons on a high note with wins over McLean Youth Soccer. The U-18s and U-16s have qualified for playoffs in the league and will travel to Frisco, TX to compete against other top USSDA sides from June 24-27 and June 25-28, respectively.

United Builds brought ten D.C. United staff members, representing six different departments, to serve lunch today in an effort to assist So Others Might Eat. The staff members prepared plates, set tables, ran beverage service and staffed the dish room throughout three different shifts. SOME served over 230 homeless individuals lunch today and serves over 240,000 meals in the dining room alone, annually.
D.C. United will play its first 2013 Open Cup match at Richmond this Tuesday, May 28 at 7:00 PM. The match will be streamed online, more information to come.
D.C. United today announced, in collaboration with Blacksburg High School Soccer, New River United SA, Radford SC, Roanoke Star SC, Christiansburg Soccer Club, and Hidden Valley High School that its U-23 squad will put on a showcase in Roanoke, Va., on June 16 at Dwight Bogle Stadium
D.C. United’s Academy U-18s and U-16s both played top-ranked Players Development Academy (PDA) teams over the weekend, seeing United’s U-18s victorious and the U-16s go down. However, both sides are still well-positioned in the Atlantic Division of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) league and will head to FC Dallas Park on June 24-28 for the 2013 USSDA Academy playoffs.
Ahead of their final home matches, D.C. United’s Youth Development Academy U16 and U18 teams are gearing up for a tough weekend against New Jersey club Players Development Academy (PDA).
