D.C. United unveils 2012 MLS uniforms
D.C. United announced today that the team has unveiled its new uniforms for the 2012 Major League Soccer season. With MLS clubs implementing new adidas kits in two-year cycles, the Black-and-Red will begin using their new strips beginning FirstKick weekend in March. Additionally, United’s 2011 third jersey will continue to be used in non-League encounters, including Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixtures and international friendlies.
Created by adidas and prominently featuring presenting partner Volkswagen, United’s 2012 jerseys are now available for sale at dcuteamstore.com and at the club’s official team store, located at RFK Stadium’s main gate. To mark the launch of the new kits, fans can receive 30% off new merchandise either at the team store or online by entering “2012” at checkout. (Discount is only valid for Monday, November 28, 2011.)
United maintains its iconic all-black home uniforms moving into 2012, with the club’s new white away jerseys featuring a red collar. Both jerseys feature an embossed District of Columbia flag, paying homage to United’s 16-year history in the Metropolitan Area. Four stars, representing United’s four MLS Cups, remain fixed above the team crest.
