D.C. United set to begin 2012 MLS season on March 10

Major League Soccer announced today the schedule for First Kick Weekend 2012 presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods, marking the beginning of MLS’ 17th season. D.C. United will begin the 2012 regular season at home on Saturday, March 10, with opponent and kickoff time to be determined at a later date.

Six other MLS matches are scheduled for Saturday, March 10, with the Colorado Rapids, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC playing host. Chivas USA and FC Dallas will host matches on Sunday, March 11, with the Portland Timbers starting their season at home on Monday, March 12.

Times, opponents and national broadcast information for these games will be included in the entire regular season schedule, which will be announced upon its completion in the coming weeks.
