D.C. United Academy to host Elite Residential Camp at new state-of-the-art facility
Washington, D.C. (June 4, 2010) - The D.C. United Academy announced today its plans to run an Elite Residential Soccer Camp as part of the 2010 Summer camp schedule. The Elite Residential Soccer Camp will take place at Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS) in Maryland from July 21-25, and is designed for the area’s top players.
A coaching staff chosen by United Technical Director Chad Ashton will lead the camp. Space will be limited to 64 residents ages 13-16, and there will also be a group for commuters ages 11-14. In addition to first-class instruction from the D.C. United Academy coaches, every participant will receive an adidas soccer ball and t-shirt. The Elite Residential Camp provides players looking to break into the D.C. United Academy teams a great opportunity to be identified by Academy staff.
Aside from the Residential Camp, the D.C. United Academy will also be hosting a Half and Full Day camp at Sandy Spring Friends School during the 2010 Summer Camp season. This will be the first of a five-year partnership with the school that will see SSFS become a year-round training site for camps and clinics. SSFS features state-of-the-art facilities to be used for camp programming, including an athletic center, fitness center, gyms, multi-purpose room, pool and an aerial park, as well as five soccer fields.
Fees for the Residential Camp will be $595 for residents and $395 for commuters. For more information regarding registration and curriculum, please visit the D.C.
