The MLS regular season has officially come to an end, and while the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs get underway in less than a week's time, take a look back at United's team leaders in multiple statistical categories.




Goals - Lamar Neagle (9)

End of Season Team Leaders -

Neagle tied his career-high with nine goals in 2016, including some vital tallies at the end of matches that rescued points for the Black-and-Red. His brace lifted United over Toronto FC on Oct. 1 and propelled them to their third straight victory.



Assists - Luciano Acosta (11)

End of Season Team Leaders -

In his first MLS season, the Buenos Aires native adapted well, playing in 31 matches. Acosta's 11 assists were the most by a United player since Dwayne De Rosario had 12 in 2011 (12 total, 7 while playing with D.C. that year).



Chances Created - Lloyd Sam (52)

End of Season Team Leaders -

A midseason acquisition from the New York Red Bulls, Sam proved to be immensely valuable down the right wing.  He completed 29 percent of his crosses and also set a career-high in assist (8).



Minutes - Taylor Kemp (2745)

End of Season Team Leaders -

Kemp proved his durability in his fourth MLS season, making 31 appearances (30 starts).  He tied his career-high with six assists and scored one goal.



Tackles - Marcelo (99)

End of Season Team Leaders -

The two-time MLS Cup champion was a workhorse in the Black-and-Red midfield, known for his relentless energy on the field and defensive traits.  Marcelo also led the team in interceptions and ball recoveries.



Clearances - Bobby Boswell (141)

End of Season Team Leaders -

D.C. United's captain was strong in the back for yet another year, providing defensive stability alongside Steve Birnbaum.  He also scored two goals, including one game-tyin goal in Chicago.
