People are starting to take notice of the Black-and-Red's red-hot streak going into the final stretch of the season, and with good reason.  United have won three matches in a row for the first time this season (after previously not posting back-to-back wins all year), including an impressive 2-1 victory over former league leaders Toronto FC at BMO Field.  The offense is clicking, scoring multiple goals in five straight matches and at least one goal in 14 consecutive.  Behind Lamar Neagle and Patrick Mullins, who have scored twelve combined goals over the past seven matches, United have launched themselves into the heart of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference.

In the latest MLS Power Rankings, D.C. are ranked seventh, their highest spot this season.  The team "that no one wants to meet in the postseason" jumped up five spots from 12 a week ago, while their latest victims fell from the top spot to sixth.  United are the fourth-best team in the East according to this week's rankings and higher than LA Galaxy, Philadelphia Union, Montreal, Real Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City and Portland, all of whom have been ranked as high as first or second this year.

United return to action on Oct. 16 against NYCFC in the final regular season home match at RFK at 3 PM.
