D.C. United players "took over" the brand-new Nando’s PERi-PERi on H St NE for charity on Saturday, Feb. 26. 100 percent of sales from the event benefitted DC SCORES, which works to improve low-income children’s physical fitness and confidence through their youth development programs.  Members of the Black-and-Red acted as food runners and servers during the restaurant's first official day, greeting fans from 1-5 PM on Saturday Feb. 27.

“Nando’s customers are from around the globe and are huge soccer fans,” said Burton Heiss, CEO of Nando’s PERi-PERi USA. “We are so proud to partner with D.C. United and DC SCORES to raise funds for at-risk DC area youth.”

“D.C. United is thrilled to partner with Nando’s on such a great cause”, said D.C. United Director of Community Relations Victor Melara. “It’s wonderful to work with a company like Nando’s who is also committed to giving back to its local community.”
