Ben Olsen Post Game Comments:

Ben Olsen: They earned that win tonight. I think they were the better team.

Q: Were you guys tired? Was there any fatigue?

BO: We had a whole bunch of things playing into it. I’m not overly concerned, it was our third game in a week, you know, we just looked a little off. We score a legitimate goal, on the road, and it gets called back. And we’re in good shape to gut out a win or a tie and Luis Silva comes off then we’re playing down a man.  So, you know, as easy as it is to throw things against the block here, I think they’re a good team. We said it before, its not easy coming here. No team in the league thinks its easy to come to Philadelphia. I felt they brought a lot more to the table tonight, energy-wise, physicality…and their physicality was tough to deal with tonight. I ‘ll take blame for that, maybe I needed to take some more, some different bodies on there. Overall I look at it as a week, a week’s body of work, and the Luis Silva injury was the one thing that’s pissing me off lately because that’s the one thing that’s really disappointing.

Q: What did you think of Miguel Aquilar and Michael Farfan out wide and how do you think Markus Halsti did?

BO: I thought Markus was great, he’s a real player. He’s going to be very good for us. I thought Farfan did okay and Aquilar, had trouble finding the game, but when he did he had some good moments. He’s still going to be a good player but he’s young. We knew that it wasn’t going to be perfect tonight and we were going to have to be at our best an maybe grind one out. I give them a lot of credit, I give Philadelphia a lot of credit tonight. I’ve been in their spot and I know the relief they feel. And having gone through it, I’m certainly not happy about the loss but they earned it tonight.

Q: Were you given an explanation for why the goal got called off?

BO: No. No. He’s emotional and he gets caught up but its just…those types of things change games. But we’ll get a good bounce here, one of these days. We’ve had good bounces and those types of calls go our way so they usually even out.

Q: How upsetting is it to see Silva go down with what seems to be a hamstring injury again?

BO: Yeah, its tough. I feel for him Nobody wants to have these. Nobody wants to have a setback and certainly nobody wants to have another setback after that. And I don’t. And we’re going to find out, what’s going on here. Because it cost us tonight.

Q: Is it the same issue that he had?

BO: I don’t know. It certainly looked like a hamstring to me. We have to do a better job of getting him healthy. Somehow.

Luis Silva Post Game Comments:

Q: Is it the same injury as before? It is severe?

Luis Silva: No it’s a little different, I don’t think is as bad.

Q: Was it just you trying to push off of it or…?

LS: Yeah I tried to go into a sprint and I just felt a little tweak.

Q: It seemed like for a second you thought that maybe you could try to stay in after it happened? What was Olsen talking to you about?

LS: He was just asking me if I was okay and I tried to jock for another ball and I just couldn’t so he just told me to come off.

Q: After everything you’ve gone through the past few months, how disappointing is it for this to happen to you?

LS: very disappointing.

Chris Pontius Post Game Comments:

Q: What did you think of the game?

Chris Pontius: It wasn’t the prettiest game but once again you’re going…you have a midweek game and then 88 minutes in you’re still 0-0. We have to see that game out and it was a little unfortunate that Luis Silva went down at the end. We were a little bit stretched but we thought we could still come out of here with a point. We’re disappointed in that sense. Long week, tired legs, you have to put that all aside and just figure out a way to get a point here.

Q: You can relate to what Silva is going through, what are your thoughts about it?

CP: I’m devastated for the guy. It just sucks. Mentally I can help him out because I’ve been there and I’ve gone through it. Hopefully it is not severe but obviously we don’t know yet.
