As the only professional soccer club in the region, D.C. United offers an unparalleled training environment for players. Training programs consist of weekly sessions led by D.C. United’s Academy and Pre-Academy coaches promoting the technical aspect of the game while also giving opportunities to players to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. Over 25 current Pre-Academy and Academy players were discovered at these training programs.

“The coaches are really professional and the exercises helped prepare me for the Pre-Academy this year,” said Ryan Espinosa, who currently plays for the D.C. United U-12 Pre-Academy. “I liked how the coaches challenged me but at the same time made the training fun.”

Coaches ensure that they provide an environment that enables players to creatively thrive while also aiding in the continued progress of the player. The professional environment gives players a taste as to what life is like for the first team and respective Academies.

The D.C. United training program will begin on June 15 and run every Sunday (except July 6) until July 27 from 5-7 p.m. If you need more information, please contact Dan Walsh at dwalsh@dcunited.com or at (202) 587-5468.
