In last week's VW Keys to the Match, Assistant Coach Josh Wolff said we needed to continue to get into dangerous places on the field, and we did. We had six attempts on goal, with two of those coming from inside the box. With most of our goals coming from long-range strikes in 2013, we took four of our six attempts on Friday night from outside the 18.

Bill Hamid made three saves on the night in Kansas City, earning himself his 8th Lenkersdorfer Man of the Match award, as voted on by the fans. Perry Kitchen and Nick DeLeon both have 3 votes on the year, the second-highest amount of votes received.

A key part of going on the road is to disrupt the home team's rhythm, especially in a stadium like Sporting Park. With a packed house behind them and the confidence of having already clinched a playoffs spot, it was crucial we generated a high foul count, trying to prevent counter attacks and long spells of possession from SKC. After 90 minutes of play, we committed 21 fouls, making it difficult for SKC to find their rhythm, as the Black-and-Red had more possession on the night.
