Though Nick DeLeon has hit a bit of the all-too-common sophomore slump, he hit a 30-yard bomb against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night. After receiving a pass from Lewis Neal, the talented midfielder turned, exploded into space and hit the back of the net.
Watch: Spotlight- Nick DeLeon
As DeLeon stated in his Spotlight interview, we are creating chances and causing problems for teams defensively—something we weren’t doing in the beginning of the season. And our 17 shots on goal prove it. With 8 shots on target and 17 open play crosses, DCU’s attacking players got into good spots, caused problems for defenders and forced Zac MacMath to make big saves.
