Coming off a few days of rest, D.C. United went back to work on this crisp Fall morning. After warming up and working through a passing drill, the Black-and-Red moved onto possession. Then, while two teams went to goal, one team ran 300-yard shuttles with the ball, dribbling through cones for the first ten yards.
In the 85th minute of the U.S. Open Cup Final, D.C. United center back Dejan Jakovic blocked a shot and went down with a left adductor grade 2 strain. As Jakovic will remain on the sideline for the rest of the season, he has withdrawn from the Canada Men's National Team camp and friendly in England. Additionally, veteran midfielder John Thorrington has played his last minutes of 2013; Thorrington is out with a grade 2 left gastroc strain after exiting last Friday's match in the 43rd minute.
