By the Numbers: June 26 vs New England

Chris Pontius - v new england - open cup

D.C. United has seen a change in results over the last few weeks, and Open Cup matches have largely been a part of the exciting upswing. Last night, the Black-and-Red defeated visiting New England Revolution in the quarterfinals of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. Check out the numbers on the night.

9

D.C. United will make their ninth all-time appearance in the semifinal round of Open Cup play on August 7 when they visit Chicago. No other teams in MLS, aside from DCU and the Fire, have advanced to the semis more than eight times.

7

Dwayne De Rosario and Chris Pontius have seven total goals between the two in the last four matches across all competitions. Let's hope that the streak, which kicked off with DeRo's hat trick against the Philadelphia Union in Open Cup, continues through the summer stretch.

3-1-1

In their last five matches, across all competitions, D.C. United has a winning record of 3-1-1. Two of the three wins came from Open Cup victories, the third came from the June 22 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.

United looks to pick up a fourth victory this weekend when the Vancouver Whitecaps FC visits RFK. BUY TICKETS
