Today, the Black-and-Red began preparing for Wednesday’s match up against the New England Revolution in the Quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup. After a 1-0 win at home, DCU plans to take the momentum from Saturday and carry it into Wednesday.
Rest and Regeneration
Those who logged big minutes on Saturday night remained inside the stadium today to get treatment and rest their muscles in preparation for Wednesday night. Players with fresher legs worked through a good training session—starting with pattern play, moving to possession, then ending with a scrimmage.
Lewis Neal Update
Lewis Neal had on his boots today. The talented midfielder was training off to the side with DCU athletic trainers during the practice session. After some footwork with and without the ball, Lewis stretched and iced his muscles—working hard to rehab from his surgery.
Assistant Coaches Josh Wolff and Chad Ashton join the kids
Towards the end of training, some DCU campers made their way over to the training field. After watching a little bit of training, the campers enjoyed a game of head-catch with Assistant Coaches Josh Wolff and Chad Ashton. Once the game was over, Head Coach Ben Olsen hosted joke time with the campers, which involved a lot of laughs from both campers and coaches alike.
