While D.C. United is busy preparing for its match up against the San Jose Earthquakes on this sunny first day of summer, here are a few training notes to hold you over until tomorrow’s match!
Captain Dwayne De Rosario has been labeled questionable for tomorrow’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes with a right hip flexor strain. Additionally, Chris Pontius (concussion), Kyle Porter (L calf strain) and Ethan White (L hip flexor)— who have all been participating in training this week—have been labeled questionable as well. Marcelo Saragosa is also on the list, still recovering from right knee surgery.
Defender Dejan Jakovic is out for tomorrow night’s match with an adductor strain, along with defender James Riley. Midfielder Lewis Neal also remains sidelined after having abdominal/groin surgery.
U.S. Open Cup Possibilities
D.C. United takes on the New England Revolution this Wednesday at the Maryland SoccerPlex. If DCU were to advance, the Black-and-Red would hit the road for the semifinal round. The squad would either travel to Chicago to take on the Fire, or head south to Florida to face Orlando City SC.
