D.C. United boasts international roster in United States’ most diverse professional sports league

Yesterday, Major League Soccer (MLS) announced that the League fields the most diverse group of athletes – spanning 61 different countries – in major professional sports. Additionally, 40.1% of MLS players were born outside of the U.S. or Canada, with its closest competitor, Major League Baseball, trailing at 25.7%.

Among all teams in MLS, D.C. United is near the top of the pack, with 12 total birth countries represented on its roster, a joint fourth-highest mark in the League.
