D.C. United has spent the week gearing up to take on the Columbus Crew this Saturday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC Sports Network). After a rare day off for the starters on Wednesday, the full team trained this morning in the cool Washington air. After a long warm-up to shake the cold out, the Black-and-Red played some possession before going into an extended 11 v 11 scrimmage. The full-field game, which pitted potential starters against reserves, was full of action and saw numerous goals, a good sign for the weekend.
After playing 11’s, the Black-and-Red switched to small-sided games to work on possession and finishing. The players then headed back to the warmth of the locker room and hit the weight room before rushing to the TV’s to check out the start of March Madness.
