In day four of our 10 Days of Giving, the club helped the Salvation Army prepare meals to be served at the Safeway Feast of Sharing on November 21 at the Washington Convention Center. Volunteers from D.C. United spent four hours alongside Convention Center chefs to finalize the turkeys and pies for the occasion. This is the third year D.C. United has teamed up with the Salvation Army during the holidays.
The Safeway Feast of Sharing is an all-day event that provides meals to over 5,000 district residents. The day includes entertainment and holiday decor for the guests, as well as the opportunity to attend a job fair and donation center. Partners of the event include Safeway, The Salvation Army, Events DC, SunTrust, CenterPlate, Metropolitan Baptist Church, Unity Health Care, Digital Conventions, and the Mid-Atlantic Gleaning Network.
