Recap: Carlo Ancelotti Conference Call

Carlo Ancelotti

On Tuesday afternoon, Paris St. Germain manager CarloAncelotti met with members of the media on a conference call.  Here are some of the highlights:

On Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his plans for the striker onSaturday night:

"Ibrahimovic arrived right now at the hotel from Sweden andwill start to train this afternoon. For the game on Saturday we have to check his physical condition, and ifthere are no problems, maybe he can play 40 or 45 minutes."

On the importance of Saturday’s match to PSG’s preseasonpreparation:

"It’s a very important match because we played on Saturdayagainst Chelsea and the next game against Washington will be the fourthfriendly game of our preseason.  Ithink that after Washington we have to play against Barcelona in Paris and thenour season will start.  It will beimportant for us to show improvement from the game against Chelsea.  I think United is a very good testbecause Washington was in the first place of [MLS].  So, it will be for us a very important test."

Comparing his challenges in Paris vs. his time at Chelsea:

"It’s a different story because when I was at Chelsea, theclub had already very good history and very good players and the organizationwas fantastic.  Here we arebuilding a new project, building a new team and building a new philosophy.  For me, it is very strong motivation tobe here and be a part of this project. We want to be competitive in Europe and we want to win the league inFrance."

On whether or not he’ll use Saturday’s match as anopportunity to scout for talent:

"If there are some players [that are] good then I think wehave to take them into consideration. For the future, of course. The American league’s quality of player is improving quickly.  A lot of players from Europe are cominghere, so the quality of play here is good.  So for this reason, maybe it can happen that some playersfrom American can come to play in Europe."
