Back at home for the first time this month, D.C. United toppled Colorado on Wednesday night at RFK.  Here are a few of the key statistics from the Black-and-Red's 2-0 win over the Rapids.


82.5% 

United’s passing accuracy in both the first and second halves, making for a full match total of – you guessed it – 82.5%.  It was D.C.’s most precise passing effort of the season, topping a previous best of 79% against Montreal and allowed the Black-and-Red to grab control of play right from the beginning of the match.

Number of corner kicks for the Black-and-Red, compared tojust three for Colorado.  In fact,D.C. attempted more corners in the first half than the Rapids did allnight.  Ben Olsen’s side was extremelydangerous on the set pieces as well, highlighted by Robbie Russell’s powerful,27th minute header that nearly put the Black-and-Red up by two justminutes after Dwayne De Rosario had given them the lead.

Amount of shots from D.C.’s Branko Boskovic, in what was anextremely busy night for the Montengrin midfielder.  Three of his shots were on target and his 60thminute header set up Hamdi Salihi’s game-clinching goal.  Add to that seven – mostly well-taken –corners and you get a sense for the impact Boskovic had in his 71-minute stint.

Game time temperature on Wednesday at RFK.  D.C. played some of its most beautiful soccerof the season on a night that deserved such a performance. After experiencing real heat forthe first time this season in Houston, the Black-and-Red proved they’ll beready for higher temps this summer.
