United Drives to collect pet supplies during April

D.C. United announced today the club will collect pet supplies during the month of April to benefit the Washington Humane Society. This marks the first time D.C. United has worked with the organization that provides care for nearly 30,000 animals each year. United Drives, now in its ninth year, collects much-needed items for non-profit organizations within the DC metropolitan area.

“D.C. United is proud to partner with the Washington Humane Society,” said Aprile Pritchet, Director of Community Relations. “We look forward to making this a lasting partnership by not only collecting items for the non-profit, but also volunteering with the organization later this year.”

Donations are accepted in the D.C. United offices on non-game days, located on the fourth floor of RFK Stadium, entering through Gate A. D.C. United’s home game against Houston Dynamo on April 28 is the designated game-day collection date for pet supplies. Please drop off items at Gate A, beginning an hour and a half prior to kick-off. The booth is open until 15 minutes into the first half.

D.C. United will continue to collect items to benefit non-profit organizations within the Metropolitan Area throughout the coming season. All fans that donate an item will receive a “Buy One, Get One Free” ticket voucher, redeemable for that day’s match or another 2012 regular season home game.
