D.C.United announced today that the team has unveiled its new uniforms for the 2012Major League Soccer season. With MLS clubs implementing new adidas kits intwo-year cycles, the Black-and-Red will begin using their new strips beginningFirstKick weekend in March. Additionally, United’s 2011 third jersey willcontinue to be used in non-League encounters, including Lamar Hunt U.S. OpenCup fixtures and international friendlies.
Createdby adidas and prominently featuring presenting partner Volkswagen, United’s2012 jerseys are now available for sale at dcuteamstore.com and at the club’s officialteam store, located at RFK Stadium’s main gate. To mark the launch of the new kits,fans can receive 30% off new merchandise either at the team store or online byentering “2012” at checkout. (Discount is only valid for Monday, November 28, 2011.)
Unitedmaintains its iconic all-black home uniforms moving into 2012, with the club’snew white away jerseys featuring a red collar. Both jerseysfeature an embossed District of Columbia flag, paying homage to United’s16-year history in the Metropolitan Area. Four stars, representing United’sfour MLS Cups, remain fixed above the team crest.
