PSW Q&A with Loudoun Soccer Technical Director Darryl Gee

Former professional player and long time Loudoun Soccer coach Darryl Gee took time out of a very busy tryout afternoon last week at brand new Philip A. Bolen Park in Leesburg, Va. to answer some questions on camera for Potomac Soccer Wire.

The largest youth soccer club in Virginia, and one of the largest in the USA, Loudoun Soccer conducts tryouts in a much different way than most clubs. Rather than team by team, the club gathers all players for each age group together at the same time, with several coaches evaluting the group, then organizing rosters into multiple teams.

Over 1,200 travel soccer hopefuls took part in this year's process, each receiving a complimentary t-shirt provided by sponsors.

In our interview with Gee, we discussed his involvement with the club and his new role as Technical Director, as well as his perspective on the always-hot subject of "player development vs winning." Gee also shared his his overall goals for the club.
