D.C. United Academy finishes 3-1-2 in weekend action

D.C. United’sAcademy teams faced Potomac and Baltimore Bays Chelsea over the past weekend inU.S. Soccer Development Academy play. The Under-16 squad led the way, securingtwo victories as the Academy finished 3-1-2 overall.


Both CollinMartin and Andres Dell’Agostino scored two goals to lead the U-16’s to twovictories over the course of the weekend. The U-16’s handily defeated Potomac4-0 on Saturday, May 21 behind a Dell’Agostino brace and strikes from Martinand Dylan Regan. The squad then defeated Baltimore Bays Chelsea 2-0 thefollowing day, with goals from Martin and Joel Condor.


The U-18’s alsofinished the weekend unblemished, defeating Potomac 3-2 on Saturday and tyingBaltimore Bays Chelsea 2-2 on Sunday, May 22. Marcus Salandy-Defour scored hisfourth and fifth goals in two weekends to lead his mates against Potomac, withBryan Piriz adding a third tally. Lester Dewee and Cody Albrecht recorded goalsto preserve the draw for United against Baltimore.


The U-15 andU-14 sides played on May 21 against Potomac, with the U-15’s posting ascoreless draw and the U-14’s falling, 2-0.
