United defender Devon McTavish is featured as one of the magazine's 2010 Washingtonians of the Year. McTavish is recognized for his work off the field, raising awareness for the Greater Washington DC/Virginia Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Additionally, McTavish is hailed for his work with the charitable arm of D.C. United, United for D.C., including events with Habitat for Humanity and MLS W.O.R.K.S. The January 2011 copy of Washingtonian is on news stands now. McTavish and his teammates will enjoy the remaining three weeks of their offseason before returning for preseason training later this month. The players will begin training at RFK Stadium before departing Washington in February and March. Thus far the club is set to compete in the 2011 Carolina Challenge Cup, while other preseason locations are still being determined.
