A quick update: Brazilian defender Roger has departed the team and returned to his native Brazil.
Said United General Manager Dave Kasper: “Roger has decided that it is in his best interest to return to Brazil. Thus, we will not conclude his signing. During his time with us, he was a consummate professional and we wish him the best in the future.”
Roger (full name: Roger Machado Marques) joined United on trial prior to the team’s departure for Bradenton, FL last week. The 33-year old defender previously played for Gremio (Brazil), Vissel Kobe (Japan) and Fluminense (Brazil).
