Washington, D.C. (January 23, 2009) – D.C. United today announced the 2009 MLS season home opener will be played against the Chicago Fire on March 28 at RFK Stadium. The match, previously scheduled against the San Jose Earthquakes, is set for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Black-and-Red will kick off their fourteenth season on March 22 when they face the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. D.C. Tickets to the home opener on March 28 are currently available as part of D.C. United ticket packages including full season, half season and flex ticket plans. Upscale seating for full season plans – either club section, private or semi-private boxes, or field level seating – is also available and includes premium services such as meal service, complimentary parking and VIP access. Youth discounted pricing remains an option for United full season, half season and flex ticket packages. Individual game tickets will go on sale at a later date on ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. A Winter 4-pack, featuring four tickets to the home opener, as well as limited edition D.C. The match-up will feature the two rivals as Major League Soccer kicks off its fourteenth season. United holds a 13-13-5 record all-time versus Chicago, earning two wins and one loss against the Fire last year. United is 6-6-1 all-time in its season openers and 6-4-3 all-time in home openers.
