It's not really a secret that 2008 did not go as Marcelo Gallardo would have liked. United's first-ever Desginated Player dealt with injuries for most of the second half of the season and was limited to 15 games in League play. Of his four goals on the season, two were nominated for the Sierra Mist Goal of the Year. Both are incredible, but his ridiculous strike against Real Salt Lake on April 26 has got to be in the running for the year's best.
