Insult to injury

Given the result of last night's game, being in the post-game locker room was no picnic.  Moods deteriorated even more on the bus ride home, courtesy of a six-hour trip that saw the Black-and-Red arrive at RFK Stadium after 2:00 a.m. this morning. The team was given a bit of extra time to sleep this morning before reporting to training for recovery/pre-game preparations.

It seems that the culprit of the traffic jam was Mother Nature.  A storm in southern New Jersey felled a tree across a portion of the southbound New Jersey Turnpike.  A 10-mile back-up formed, leaving motorists stuck in a two-hour delay.

In addition to scoring United's lone goal of the game, Jaime Moreno proved to be the most fortunate member of the group.  Choosing to drive home with his family from Giants Stadium, the League's career goal scoring leader avoided much of the delay by phoning a friend to stay the night on the road and finish the drive this morning.
