What a finish! Luciano Emilio scores the game-winner in stoppage time (while down a man!) to give United its first road victory since last year. The guys were, understandably, pumped in the locker room after the final whistle. I think you'll agree that the team fought hard for 90 minutes and arguably put together its best game of the year. If not for a few great saves from Fire goalkeeper Jon Busch, we could have been up by a couple goals in the first half. What a phenomenal result for the team, though, after so many missed opportunities early in the year. Tonight's game is the team's last League road game until August 10, with four games at home (and at least three SuperLiga matches at home in July) leading up to that match with New York.

The reserves will face Chicago tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., while the first-teamers will head back to D.C. first thing in the morning.

D.C. United Head Coach Tom Soehn:
On the team’s performance: “I thought we had the better of them. Obviously we changed when the cards came, but I give the guys a lot of credit they fought even when we were down a man. It is a great victory for us and we want to keep building on what we have. The team is getting better, and everyone is taking on their roles a little more.”
