MLS Experience
2010: Signing with United on 3/4, Morsink registered 20 games (18 starts) for the Black-and-Red in League play. Morsink was a big part of the team’s U.S. Open Cup campaign, playing in four games as a starter. In all competitions, the midfielder played in 27 games (23 starts). Morsink’s sole assist of the season came in a charity match against the El Salvador National Team on 6/19.
2009: Morsink played in five games (two starts), accumulating 154 minutes on the field for the Wizards before being waived.
2008: Morsink played in 21 matches (13 starts) for Kansas City, as the midfielder tallied three assists.
2007: A native of San Jose, Costa Rica, Morsink was originally acquired by Kansas City with the 42nd pick in the fourth round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. He appeared in 21 games (10 starts), and played in all three of the Wizards’ 2007 MLS Cup playoff matches.
College Experience
2006: As a senior at JMU, Morsink led the Dukes in goals (9), assists (6) and points (24) and ranked among the Colonial Athletic Association leaders in all three categories. He was selected to the All-Colonial Athletic Association first team and NSCAA All-South Atlantic first team.
2005: In his junior year, Morsink started all 20 games JMU played and led team in goals (9), assists (6) and points on his way to being named the Dukes offensive MVP for the second year in a row. He was also selected to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic first team, All-conference first team and All-state first team.
2004: Morsink earned JMU’s offensive MVP honors in his second year, scoring nine goals (the most for any Dukes player) and eight assists (tied for most) in 18 games played (all starts). He was named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region first team, All-conference first team and All-state first team.
2003: Morsink played his collegiate career at James Madison University, where as a freshman he set the school record for assists by a freshman and was named Rookie of the Year. He was the team’s assist leader (9) and second on team in goals (5) while starting all of the team’s 20 games.
