
2009: After rotating goalkeepers early in the season, Wicks secured the No. 1 spot playing 1,672 minutes in 19 games (all starts). The netminder earned five shutouts and a 5-5-8 record. On 6/13, Wicks stopped a penalty kick to give United a 2-1 win over Chicago. Wicks also played two Open Cup games and four Champions League games. Playing against San Jose on 9/27, Wicks dislocated his shoulder and sprained his MCL trying to stop a corner kick, and was forced to sit out the rest of the season.
2008: After a trial with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Wicks signed a contract on 3/26/08 with the club. He made his MLS debut on 8/30/2008, coming off the bench to face the New England Revolution. In total, he made six appearances (five starts) for the Galaxy, posting a goals against average of 2.18 and making 20 saves.
2007: Wicks moved to the Portland Timbers prior to the start of the 2007 season. He played 2,385 minutes in 27 matches and made 87 saves while allowing just 16 goals. He led the USL First Division with a 0.60 goals against average and tallied a 13-4-9 record to earn the league's Goalkeeper of the Year award. At the end of the season, Wicks was selected to the USL First Division All-League First Team for the first time in his career.
2006: In his second season with the Whitecaps, Wicks was 2-1-2 in five appearances, recording two shutouts and 20 saves. He helped Vancouver win the USL First Division Championship, their first championship since the 1991 CSL (Canadian Soccer League) title.
2005: In his first year as a pro, playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL First Division, Wicks started the final 11 matches of the season. He finished the regular season with a 5-4-2 record, posting five shutouts and 39 saves to lead the Whitecaps into the playoffs.
Wicks played four years at Cal State Bakersfield between 2001-2004. He finished his time as the school’s career leader in several career goalkeeping categories, including most starts (79), minutes played (7,149), saves (358), goals against average (1.01) and shutouts (34). He set single season records for saves (120 in 2002), goals against average (0.59 in 2004), and shutouts (12 in 2004) and was selected to the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) First Team his senior season in 2004.
Acquired on 3/10/09 from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for a 4th round draft pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.
