MLS Experience

2009: Janicki amassed 422 minutes of play over seven appearances, including five starts during League play. He played five games (all starts) in United’s U.S. Open Cup run and started two games in CONCACAF Champions League action.

2008: Greg Janicki signed a developmental contract with United on 9/12. With a host of injuries to the Black-and-Red, he stepped in as a central defender and played three League games (all starts), totaling 216 minutes on the pitch, and in five CONCACAF Champions League games (three starts). He scored his first-ever goal in a United kit in D.C.’s final Champions League game on 10/29, a 4-2 loss to CD Marathon.

Other Experience

2008: Greg Janicki signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (United Soccer League second division) for his first year in professional soccer. The defender appeared in 14 games, registering one assist during 1,036 total minutes on the pitch.

2006-07: During his time at Michigan State University, Janicki played two seasons in the Premier Development League – in 2006 with the Michigan Bucks and in 2007 with West Michigan Edge. In 2007, he scored one goal in 1,285 minutes played.

College Experience

2006: Janicki spent his entire collegiate career at Michigan State University, playing 61 total matches (57 starts) over four seasons. During his senior year, the defender played in eighteen total games (all starts), tallying two goals and an assist. For his efforts, he was named as a member of the NSCAA/adidas All-Great Lakes Region Second Team and to the All-Big Ten First Team.

2003-05: During his junior season, in 2005 Janicki started 19 games and registered two assists and was named First Team All-Big Ten and Second Team All-Great Lakes Region. During his sophomore year, he started 20 games and collected an assist as he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team. In 2003, during his freshman season, Janicki appeared in four games (no starts).
