MLS Experience

2011: Traded to New York Red Bulls on June 27

2010: Dax McCarty started 18 of the 21 games he appeared in with FC Dallas, scoring one goal and had two assists. He also started all four of Dallas’ MLS Cup playoff games and scored one goal.

2009: McCarty appeared in 28 games making 27 starts. He scored a career best three goals and recorded six assists.

2008: McCarty registered 2 assists in the 17 games he played. He had to miss five regular season games due to undergoing sports hernia surgery.

2007: McCarty made his first career MLS start in a win over the Galaxy and also scored his first MLS career goal in another game against the Galaxy. He started 18 of the 25 games he played in registering one goal and seven assists. He also appeared in one U.S. Open Cup playoff game and registered one assist for his efforts. He had to miss five games due to competing with the U.S. U-20 national team at the U-20 World Cup.

2006: McCarty was drafted 6th overall of the 2006 SuperDraft by FC Dallas and made his MLS debut on July 1 against Chivas USA. He missed five games during the season while he was with the U-20 national team.

International Experience

2010: McCarty was called into the U.S. Men’s National team January training camp in preparation for the friendly versus Honduras where he entered the game as a substitute for Benny Feilhaber. He was also called to the February training camp in preparation for the friendly versus El Salvador.

2009: McCarty earned his first cap with the U.S. Men’s National team on November 14 in a friendly against Slovakia. He also appeared against Denmark four days later.

2008: McCarty was a member of the U.S. Men’s Olympic team that participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics where he appeared in the team’s final match against Nigeria. He was named to the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying All-Tournament Team Best XI.

2007: During the FIFA U-20 World Cup McCarty appeared in all five games the U.S. played.

2006: McCarty was a regular member of the U-20 National team and led the team scoring and often served as captain. He joined the team for camp in Argentina where he played three games and scored one goal against two club teams in as well as the Argentine U-20 team. He appeared in and started all three games during the Milk Cup and scored one goal against Wales. He also played in the Busan International U-20 Four Nations Tournament where he played all three games and scored once against Argentina.

College Experience

2005: As a sophomore, McCarty led the UNC Tar Heels with eight assists and was named NSCAA second team All-America and All-ACC First Team.

2004: During his freshman season McCarty started five of the 21 games he played and finished the seasons with two goals and three assists. He received all-tournament honors at the Carolina Nike Classic
