MLS Experience

2010: Allsopp signed with the Black-and-Red on 1/18 after leaving Al-Rayyan in Qatar and made a strong impact on the MLS scene in his first season with D.C. United. Allsopp tied rookie phenom Andy Najar for the team lead in goals with five, including a club-best three game winners. The Australian striker appeared in 23 MLS matches and made 18 starts, finishing the year with 1,456 minutes played. Allsopp registered a pair of two-goal matches, the first on 5/5 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City, and the second on 8/22 against Philadelphia in a 2-0 triumph. He also scored the game-winning goal in D.C.’s 3-2 friendly win at RFK Stadium over Italian superpower AC Milan on 5/26.

2009: An athletic and skilled striker, Danny Allsopp has consistently found the back of the net throughout his diverse career. Allsopp joined United on January 18 from Qatari side Al-Rayyan, where he scored six goals in 12 matches. Before moving to the Middle East, Allsopp capped a brilliant club career in Australia, appearing four times and scoring one goal for the Melbourne Victory in the Hyundai A-League during the 2009-2010 season.

2008: In his last full season with Melbourne, Allsopp helped his club capture the Hyundai A-League Grand Final. During this campaign the prolific striker scored 13 goals and recorded four assists playing in every match of the season.

2007: Starting 17 of 18 league matches, Allsopp registered 1,520 minutes of play, scoring seven times and registering two assists for the season.

2006: Arguably Allsopp’s best individual season, the talented Australian forward earned the Hyundai A-League Golden Boot Award after scoring 12 regular season goals en route to the Grand Final. Melbourne trounced Adelaide United 6-0 in the title game, with Allsopp contributing heavily to the championship run.

2005: In Australia’s first A-League season, Allsopp joined the Melbourne Victory and played in every match of the campaign, scoring three times and dishing out three helpers.

2003-2005: Following his time at Notts County, Allsopp headed north to Yorkshire to play for Hull City in League One (England’s third division). This move brought further success to the experienced Aussie, as Allsopp scored 15 goals for the Tigers in his first season with the club and helped them gain promotion to the Championship in 2005.

2000-2003: In a productive three-year stay with Notts County, Allsopp scored 50 goals in 111 appearances in all competitions for the East Midlands team.

2000: Following promotion, Manchester City loaned Allsopp to Notts County, then to Wrexham in early 2000. Allsopp scored three goals during a short stay with the Welsh club before joining Notts County again on loan. The Australian scored three goals in four games for County, impressing the Nottingham-based side and earning Allsopp a permanent move from Manchester City.

1998-2000: Allsopp left Australia for England in 1998 and joined Manchester City of the English Second Division. The striker helped City gain promotion to the First Division in 1998-1999, as Allsopp netted four goals throughout the season.

1995-1998: The Australian forward played for two local sides during this time period, South Melbourne and Carlton of the Australian National Soccer League.

1995: Allsopp began his professional career in Australia with Croydon City FC in the Victoria Premier League and was later selected from the Victorian Institute of Sport in 1998.

International Experience

2007-2009: Allsopp made his senior debut in a friendly against Uruguay in 2007. In total he has three full international caps for Australia.

1997-2000: Allsopp played with the U-20 side at the FIFA World Championship in Malaysia in 1997, before representing the U-23s on several occasions.
