COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
2010: During his senior year at the University of Akron, Chris Korb started all 25 matches at outside back and was part of a defensive unit that posted 11 shutouts. He logged 2,208 minutes on the field, making him third among all Akron field players. Korb finished the season with five assists, two coming in consecutive matches against Hartwick on 11/6 and Buffalo on 11/12. He was named to the All-MAC Second Team as Akron won the 2010 College Cup.
2009: In his junior year, Korb was a key contributor to Akron’s defense that set school records for goals-against-average (0.27) and shutouts (19) while starting all 25 matches. Akron's 19 shutouts is the second highest single-season total in NCAA history, and its GAA and shutout percentage were ranked third all-time. Korb was named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team and was part of the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.
2008: Coming back from a leg injury the season before, Korb started all 23 games as part of a defense that led the nation with a 0.45 goals-against-average mark, posting 13 shutouts. He scored his first career goal against Hartwick in the MAC Tournament semifinals on 11/14.
2007: Korb suffered a leg injury during the preseason and was a medical redshirt, transferring ot the University of Akron.
2006 (Xavier University): While at Xavier University, Korb appeared in 18 matches, starting in 15 of those matches. He finished the season with two assists on four shot attempts.
PERSONAL
Parents are Rozann and Kenneth Korb. He was a member of the USYSA State Cup championship team every year between 2002 and 2005. In 2002 he was a USYSA regional semifinalist and in 2004 was a 2004 USYSA Midwest regional finalist. Studied Marketing Management at Akron.
