MLS EXPERIENCE
A promising defensive prospect for United, Rice saw his playing time limited to just two League games due to nagging concussion symptoms. During United’s Open Cup run, Rice started all three games he saw time in. In total, the young defender played in five games (two starts) for the Black-and-Red.
COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
2009: Capping a brilliant career at the University of Kentucky, Rice took up the armband once more for the Wildcats and played in 18 games, starting every one of these contests. Despite his defensive status, Rice notched two goals – bringing him to sixth on the team’s all-time list for game-winning strikes (7). Rice’s 78 career matches in a Kentucky uniform places him at seventh on the school’s all-time appearance list.
2008: In his junior season Rice became the only player in school history to earn back-to-back Conference USA Defender of the Year honors. Rice started all 21 games for the Wildcats, logging 1,989 minutes and scoring two goals to accompany one assist. Rice also co-captained the side throughout the season.
2007: The stalwart defender led the team in minutes played as a sophomore (1,642), goals (7), and points (15). In all, Rice started 18 games during the campaign.
2006: Rice was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team after starting all 21 matches in his first season at the University of Kentucky. He was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament Team after helping UK to the final.

EXPERIENCIA UNIVERSITARIA
2009: Coronando una carrera espectacular en la Universidad de Kentucky, Rice de nuevo fungió como capitán de los Wildcats en su último año, jugando en 18 partidos como titular.
