Thursday Training Notes

Three Kickers train with DCU; Canadians return from Spain; Hall of Tradition and UNO

It's hot out there, but that didn't stop D.C. United from having a great training session this morning. The Black-and-Red worked through agilisties and passing drills, moved on to three team possession, then ended with a full field scrimmage with a focus on set pieces.

Three Kickers train with DCU
This week, three standouts from D.C. United’s USL PRO affiliate the Richmond Kickers are training with the Black-and-Red. USL PRO Rookie of the Year Nate Robinson is in the District this week. Robinson led his team in assists this season, helping on nine goals from his role on the flank. Former University of Maryland defender Alex Lee also joins United this week. Lee featured in the Terrapin back line with both Ethan White and Taylor Kemp, and shared the pitch with Casey Townsend as well. Lastly, Juan Arbelaez, another defender, has enjoyed training with DCU as well. Arbelaez featured for the VCU Rams, and was a chosen by the Montreal Impact in the supplemental draft before heading to Richmond.

De Rosario, Jakovic and Porter return from International duty
Dwayne De Rosario, Dejan Jakovic and Kyle Porter were called up to the Canadian National Team at the end of last month for training camp in Spain and a friendly against Maruitania, which the squad tied 0-0 under new head coach Benito Floro. All three United players started the match, but only Jakovic featured for the full 90. Both De Rosario and Porter came off in the 65th minute. De Rosario, Jakovic and Porter returned to D.C. on September 9th and have been training all week. Check out the beautiful picture Jakovic posted to his Instagram while in Valencia.
