Tale of the Tape: D.C. United vs. LA Galaxy
In boxing, the tale of the tape is the pre-fight measurements between the two combatants. In 2013, we're telling the tale of the tape between D.C. United and its foe of the week.
D.C. United midfielder Perry Kitchen is on pace to reach the 8,000 minute mark during the Black-and-Red’s 9/21 match at New England. If he reaches this mark, he would be just the second player in League history age 21 and under to achieve this feat, with Eddie Gaven logging 8,000 minutes at age 19.
At 71.2%, D.C. United had the highest passing accuracy in the attacking third in MLS during the month of August.
During the 61-75 minutes, LA Galaxy has scored the second most goals in MLS this season (10), but D.C. United is tied with Seattle Sounders FC for conceding the least amount of goals (2) during that time frame.
All-Time Goal Scorers
Four of the MLS All-Time leading goal scorers will be at RFK Stadium Saturday. Landon Donovan (132) Dwayne De Rosario (103) and Carlos Ruiz (88) will be on the field, and D.C. United will be honor Jamie Moreno (133) at halftime of the match.
Defense Away from Home
LA Galaxy are currently tied for second most road goals conceded with Chivas USA (26) and are two behind the leader San Jose Earthquakes (28).
