D.C United’s Lionard Pajoy undergoes hernia surgery

Forward expected to miss six weeks

D.C. United today announced that Black-and-Red forward Lionard Pajoy underwent surgery to repair his left inguinal hernia. The procedure was performed by Dr. Glenn Sandler of Advanced Surgery PC in Rockville, Md., on Wednesday. The timeframe of Pajoy’s return is around six weeks.

In his second season in the League, Pajoy has appeared in 50 games (38 starts), notching 10 goals and adding three assists. Before joining MLS, Pajoy spent seven years playing internationally in the Colombian first division where he netted 47 goals in 215 appearances.
