Homegrown talent earns MLS debut in Chicago

Conor Shanosky impressed D.C. United coaches on Tuesday against Richmond in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup and earned his first MLS regular season start and appearance tonight against the Chicago Fire. The talented homegrown player anchored the Black-and-Red defense at center back and made some important tackles in his MLS debut. Shanosky impacted the offense as well when he sent a header from a Kyle Porter corner just over the Chicago crossbar, nearly equalizing the match in the 16th minute. With injuries to key players at center back, Shanosky stepped in confidently and showed just what he's capable of in the future.
