Monday training notes
D.C. United continued to train in Lake Mary, Florida on Monday afternoon after having a lighter than usual Sunday following the 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The biggest difference between pre-season in Lake Mary and pre-season is Bradenton has been single sessions instead of double sessions.
Ben Olsen and the Black-and-Red have continued to focus on the system that the team wants to play. Numerous possession games and shape drills dominate training each day with more of a focus on playing rather than fitness this trip.
The team will be given the afternoon off today, so aside from treatments and League meetings, the squad will have much of the afternoon to rest. A select few, led by Assistant Coach Chad Ashton, will host a clinic tonight for local side Orlando City. Players joining Ashton include Marcelo Saragosa, Lewis Neal, Andrew Dykstra, Casey Townsend, Taylor Kemp, and Conor Shanosky.
Tomorrow, the Black-and-Red will be back to its usual pre-game routine as it prepares for an early evening matchup with Sporting Kansas City. WATCH ONLINE
