By the numbers: D.C. United vs Toronto FC

With a stacked midfield, the Black-and-Red quickly took charge against Toronto

D.C. United dominated much of Saturday's match against visiting Toronto on Saturday at RFK.  Here are a few of the key statistics from the Black-and-Red's 3-1 win over Aron Winter's side.

81.4%

For the second straight match- and for only the second time this season - D.C. United topped the 80-percent mark in passing accuracy.  That number becomes even more impressive when compared to TFC's 68.4% passing rate. The common denominator in the two most accurate passing nights for United this year?  Branko Boskovic.

Out of six attempts, Toronto forward RyanJohnson put just one shot on goal. One of TFC's most dangerous - and consistent - threats was all but eiminated, anespecially rewarding feat for United's defense after Johnson's mid-weekcomments about the D.C. back four.

This isn't so much a stat, but a timingnote.  All three of D.C. United'sgoals came within two minutes of either... 1) The start of a half, 2) The endof a half, 3) A TFC goal.  TheBlack-and-Red dominated most of the match on Saturday, but went for - and found- the proverbial jugular in the game's most critical moments.

Difference in passes between D.C. and Toronto, as Ben Olsen's sideaccumulated 431 total passes to just 297 for the visitors.  The Black-and-Red midfield, which wasessentially playing five-against-three, dominated their counterparts and keptToronto from finding any sort of rhythm.
