With potential U.S. Men's National Team call-ups on the horizon, Bill Hamid will spend ten days training with West Bromwich Albion of the English Premier League. The 20-year old goalkeeper is en route to England this evening and will join Albion's squad as early as Friday. Hamid will return stateside on November 7.

Hamid has been called-up to the U.S. Men’s National Team three times in 2011, becoming the first-choice back-up goalkeeper to Tim Howard. The United netminder earned his first call-up for the United State’s 1-1 draw with Mexico on August 10 and was again on the bench for a pair of 1-0 losses to Costa Rica on September 2 and Belgium on September 6. Hamid earned his third call-up for two friendly matches against Honduras and Ecuador on October 8 and 11, respectively. The D.C. United Academy product was on the 18-man roster during the 1-0 victory against Honduras and the 1-0 loss against Ecuador, but did not see the field.

UNITED BACK ON THE PITCH

After a week long break following the end of the regular season, Head Coach Ben Olsen will gather his troops at RFK on Monday for three weeks of post-season training. The team will alternate from the training pitch to the weight room at Results, The Gym during the coming weeks. The team will likely also welcome a number of trialists and will therefore play most sessions behind closed doors.
