United at Martha’s Table
Head Coach Ben Olsen and front office staff spent Monday morning volunteering at Martha's Table in Washington, DC. The Black-and-Red prepared meals and helped set-up the mobile soup kitchen, called McKenna's Wagon, for its evening meal distribution.
Coach Olsen, his daughter, and staff helped wash food bins and prepared sandwiches for distribution to Martha's Table clients while other volunteers from United chopped vegetables for soup and packed the food bags. "D.C. United's mission is to win championships and serve the community," Olsen said after the event. "Off the field, we know the importance of giving back to the DC community that supports our organization. Working with Martha's Table is important to me because my family lives only a few blocks from here. "
D.C. United has volunteered at Martha’s Table several times over the years and looks forward to returning. To volunteer or learn more information about Martha's Table visit marthastable.org.
