D.C. United announces preseason schedule

Washington, D.C. (January 28, 2010) - D.C. United announced today the club’s preseason schedule, as the team prepares for the 2010 Major League Soccer campaign. Players are set to report to RFK Stadium on Friday, January 29 for fitness testing and the club will hold its official media day on Monday, February 1 at 11 a.m.

Following a week in the Nation’s Capital, United will continue the preseason with a visit to Bradenton, Florida, where the club will play truncated matches to build fitness levels. Curt Onalfo’s side ends the exhibition season in Charleston, South Carolina, where the club will compete in the Carolina Challenge Cup. In the annual competition hosted by the Charleston Battery, D.C. is set to face MLS foes Real Salt Lake and Toronto FC, along with the tournament hosts at Blackbaud Stadium.

Between the two trips to Florida and South Carolina United will add a third portion of the preseason at a yet to be determined location. This leg of the schedule will take place from March 4 to March 10.

The Black-and-Red return to Washington permanently on March 22, where the club will make final preparations for the MLS regular season opener at Kansas City on March 27. One week later United host their first home match of the new season on Saturday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. against the New England Revolution.

Tickets to this match at RFK Stadium are currently available as part of D.C. United ticket packages including full season, half season and flex ticket plans. Upscale seating for full season plans - either club section, private or semi-private boxes, or field level seating - is also available and includes premium services such as meal service, complimentary parking and VIP access. Youth discounted pricing remains an option for United full season, half season and flex ticket packages.
