Branden Steineckert is a United fan

081108_Rancid_1.jpgI have a feeling a good number of our fans - perhaps especially those in Barra Brava? - know who Branden Steineckert is.  For those of you that don't, you should know first that he is a United fan.  He also happens to play drums in one of the most popular punk rock bands out there, Rancid.  He also previously played in The Used, which is a massive rock band as well.

It just so happens that Rancid is in D.C. tonight for a sold out show at the 9:30 Club and Branden made his way to RFK Stadium today to pick up some United gear at the team store.  He bought a couple shirts and also took advantage of the Behind The Badge merchandise offer and got the team duffle bag.

Branden told us he is a friend of former United goalkeeper Nick Rimando and apparently lives in Salt Lake (I can neither confirm nor deny that he owns any RSL gear, though).  We didn't think to ask him if he'd be wearing any gear at the show tonight, but if anyone is going please be sure to let us know how it went in the comments section.

UPDATE (11:54 p.m.):  I've not yet seen photos from tonight's show, but I just got a text from Nick Rimando and he said: "go and find pics from the Rancid show tonight... Branden will be showing his true colors."  I'm pretty sure that can only mean one thing and I have a feeling it might be that he wore a kit with the number 18 on the back.  Clever move, Rimando, clever move.
