D.C. United goalkeeper Anrew Dykstra, currently playing for USL PRO affiliate Richmond Kickers, earned Week 9 USL PRO Team of the Week honors. After making five crucial saves against the Los Angeles Blues on Friday night, Dysktra helped the Kickers earn a point in a 1-1 tie. Dykstra has played all seven games of the undefeated Kickers thus far (4-0-3). The talented goalkeeper has anchored a defense that has only allowed seven goals in the 2013 season.

D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid has been named to Major League Soccer Team of the Week for Week 12. Hamid came up big on key plays against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday night. A memorable save and crucial stop came in the 39th minute when Hamid denied Graham Zusi from inside the penalty box. Hamid made another point blank save in the 77th minute, denying Sporting Kansas City the go ahead goal.
After the suburbs of Oklahoma City were devastated by yesterday's tornado, many took to Twitter to send their thoughts and prayers to those affected by the natural disaster.

Each match, D.C. United has important partners and fans perform the ceremonial first kick. On Armed Forces Night the first kick was taken by Jason Pak, a D.C. United fan and longtime soccer player who was injured while serving in Afghanistan. In April, Chris Pontius and James Riley visited Pak at Walter Reed Medical Center where the three formed an instant connection. D.C.
Ahead of D.C. United’s Armed Forces Match against Sporting Kansas City this Sunday, D.C. United players paid a special visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on MAy 15th. United’s Chris Pontius, Perry Kitchen, Bill Hamid, James Riley, Dwayne De Rosario, Nick DeLeon, and Dejan Jakovic spent time in the Military Advanced Training Center, where amputees injured during service are given special care with the goal of assuming pre-injury capabilities.
