Wednesday Training Notes

D.C. United wraps up three days of training in Arlington

On a blustery day at Long Bridge Park in Arlington, Virginia, D.C. United finished up three days of training in the Greater-Washington area. United continued to work on its shape and fitness throughout the week as it prepared for an 8:00 p.m, matchup with the Tampa Bay Rowdies at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando on Saturday (live stream available on dcunited.com).

The focus around Long Bridge Park over the past few days was rhythm and chemistry, as it was over the first few weeks in Bradenton.

“It will be good to get that chemistry and get a lot of our guys together this trip. We got guys like Dwayne De Rosario and Dejan Jakovic out with National Team duty and we’re all just trying to get back in the groove and back on the same page,” said D.C. United Defender Brandon McDonald.

“It’s good, I mean, this time is all about fine tuning, getting back to the rhythm of things and getting back in sync with each other,” said D.C. United forward Dwayne De Rosairo.

D.C. United will have plenty of time over the next month while in Florida to get on the same page as it plays five times over the course of the next 18 days in Orlando.

Najar sighting at RFK

Andy Najar was spotted in D.C. United’s locker room early this morning – making a visit to his teammates and staff following a permanent transfer to R.S.C. Anderlecht just a few short weeks ago. Najar was schedule to play for Honduras today against the United States, but was dropped from the squad following an ankle injury suffered in Belgium.
