In June of 2013, D.C. United and DC Brau asked fans to “Brand the Brew.” You named it “The Tradition.” Bars were sold out of the limited-run brew within two weeks.
In December of 2013, we asked you to pick the design for a 12 oz. can of “The Tradition”. This is what you picked:
On March 29, 2014, D.C. United invites fans to “Have a Beer On Us” and receive a complimentary pour of DC Brau’s “The Tradition” when the Black-and-Red takes on the Chicago Fire at 4:00 p.m. at RFK Stadium.
Each fan who purchases a “Have a Beer On Us” ticket will receive a sideline seat on the supporter’s side of the field and a 12oz pour of “The Tradition” for the low price of $27 (all fees included!). Fans can purchase between one (1) and eight (8) tickets. For those with groups of eight (8) or more, please contact D.C. United at 202-587-5492 to save even more off the Box Office price!
And wait, it gets better! Each week leading up to the match, one pack purchaser will be randomly selected to win a DC Brau prize pack! The prize pack, valued at $140, includes:

It was truly a day to unite! D.C. United's "A Day to Unite" event at Pinstripes in Georgetown was a great success thanks to our amazing Season Ticket Holders.
We revealed our primary kit for 2014 complete with a fashion show from the players, had new stadium renderings available to view, hosted a silent auction to benefit United for D.C., enjoyed bowling, bocce, food, and even a photo booth. The afternoon was spent giving our Season Ticket Holders and DCU players a chance to hang out together in a fun and unique setting.
Thank you to all the Season Ticket Holders who made this event so incredible. We are glad you enjoyed meeting this year's team and staff. We are grateful to have the best fans in MLS wearing Black-and-Red! Make sure you tag yourselves in our Facebook album from the photo booth.

How long did that take?
Joshua: I believe I have 7-8 hours on it.
What made you roll with and USOC themed pumpkin?
J: My wife said I should do something different, and asked about the USOC trophy DCU had just won, and said I should use that as the theme.
How excited are you that you won?
J: I could not believe it when the MLS representative contacted me. I had looked at the other entries as they were being posted on twitter. The more I looked, the more anxious I got. I'm just glad that a D.C. United based pumpkin won something else this year!
Is your profession art-based?< That is a pretty awesome Pumpkin and I could never do that!
J: My profession is not art based. This was my first "fancy" pumpkin that I have ever done. It turned out so well my wife asked me to do a minion pumpkin for her. (See Below)
Have people been Tweeting at you?
J: Yes! I am amazed at random people Retweeting me, Tweeting to me, and I even gained a few followers. One in particular is a huge RSL fan, and said it burned him to see the DCU themed USOC pumpkin, as he was at the game. He has, however, been very kind in complementing my entry. I also got compliments from Nick DeLeon and Chris Pontius as well!
Through a rough season, the Black-and-Red Faithful supported the club with unrivaled passion and dedication. We thank you all for wearing the crest with pride and supporting us on the field and in the community. Without your help in our Open Cup run this season, we could never have lifted our 13th trophy, together, as one. Thank you for your continued encouragement and steadfast support in 2013.

Recently, MLS partnered with an international soccer-art collective called the Futbol Artists Network (FAN), to create a series of club-inspired art as part of a project called #TrueColors. The project asked FAN artists to use the club’s colors, marks, and jersey as inspiration for their pieces.
As part of the #TrueColors project, we’re holding a one-of-a kind contest that gives you the opportunity to express yourself, and your passion for your club, through art.
WIN A JERSEY
There’s a sweet prize at the end for the winner, too. One person will be randomly selected to win the official 2013 jersey of his/her choice courtesy of MLSGear.com, and the winning tweet will be featured on MLSsoccer.com.
It’s simple to participate. Between Feb. 14-19, send a tweet that includes the following four elements:
- The link to an original photo of your artwork, available on public domain (ex: Instagram, Photobucket, Flickr, etc.)
- A brief description of how your artwork is connected to your favorite MLS Club
- The hashtags: #TrueColors and the @handle of your club
- Lastly, make sure your account is following @MLS
The winner will be notified on Twitter by direct message from @MLS on Feb. 22, and announced online thereafter.

Yesterday, Grantland.com released their Designated Player: 2012 MLS Awards. In the category of Fans of the Year, they awarded the fans and supporters of the Black-and-Red.
United fans are recognized for their display of loyalty amidst a tough playoff series against New York. A series which saw buses full of D.C. United fans travel not one night, but two nights in a row up to Red Bull Arena in the blistering cold. Since their 1996 inaugural campaign, United has been proud to boast some of the most passionate and supportive fans in all of MLS.
The same article also mentions D.C. United Head Coach Ben Olsen as a runner-up for Coach of the Year. Olsen lead D.C. to the best home record in the league, and took the team to the playoffs for the first time in five year.
